According to the Clifton Strengths Finder my strengths are Futuristic, Discipline, Deliberative, Individualization, and Focus. Marcus Buckingham is the co-creator of the StrengthsFinder tool. He is a British-American author, motivational speaker, and business consultant.

Marcus is known for his work on strengths-based management and leadership. He argues that individuals should focus on developing and leveraging their strengths at work because doing so not only enhances performance but also increases job satisfaction and overall well-being. Conversely, when people are forced to work outside of their strengths, it can lead to disengagement, frustration, and decreased motivation. His ideas have influenced organizational management and personal development.

According to Gallup’s latest data on U.S. job satisfaction, published in September 2021, 53% of American workers were dissatisfied with their jobs.

Understandably, we may not all have the option to immediately pivot into something that’s better using our strengths, yet it doesn’t mean we cannot begin to make incremental course correcting steps now. Surely, it is difficult to overcome the inertia to start and the obstacles to get there. But if you peered ahead 10 years from now, how would your future-self feel about you undertaking that effort today?
