Trains are a lot like us. When they first get moving, they’re slow—so slow that a single brick on the track can stop them cold. But give them time, let that engine build steam, and suddenly not even a car in their way can bring them to a halt. That’s the power of momentum.
But here’s the catch: if a train needs to change direction—if it wants to switch tracks—it can’t do it at full speed. It must slow down. Stop, even. Then it shifts. And then, yes, it must build that momentum all over again.
Sound familiar?
Maybe you’ve had to come to a full stop in life. Maybe you’ve switched careers, relationships, locations—or maybe you’re just trying to get back on the right track after a detour. That’s not failure. That’s a junction. And junctions are how we get to new destinations.
Don’t be discouraged if you’re not running at full speed yet. It takes time. And it takes energy—especially if you’re carrying a heavy load. The “cargo” we haul isn’t always visible. It could be old wounds, lingering doubts, unspoken fears, toxic environments, or people who don’t see the potential in your engine. The heavier the load, the longer it takes to get moving. But it’s not impossible.
You might just need more coal in your firebox—more fuel, more faith, more encouragement. Or maybe you need a conductor—a mentor, a coach, a friend—to help you flip the right switches, push the right levers, and pull the right cords to get you back in motion.
The key is this: don’t quit at the junction.
Be patient with the build-up.
Stay focused. Persist consistently.
Soon enough, you’ll feel that momentum again. You’ll hear that rhythm of progress. And before you know it, you’ll be racing forward toward new tracks, new scenery, and destinations you never imagined.
So hang on tight.
Woot woot! 🚂
